CBD Oil vs Gummies: What’s the Difference?

Both CBD oil and CBD gummies can be used to relax and improve health. So, what’s the difference between the two forms? Which one is better? Read on to find out.

CBD has gained quite a bit of popularity over the past few years for its various health benefits and relaxing qualities. A chemical compound from the hemp plant, CBD is used in many ways, with oil and gummies being the most common forms and here at LJVapes we stock an extensive range of CBD with over 6000 product lines.

But what’s the difference between the two, and which is the better option? Let’s find out.

CBD Oil

CBD oil is extracted from the hemp plant with the help of a solvent, such as ethanol or carbon dioxide. Like any other oil, it includes a high concentration of the substance (in this case, CBD) and sometimes also includes other compounds found in hemp, such as flavonoids.

Most people will sublingually consume CBD oil, meaning it is kept under the tongue for about a minute before it is swallowed. This method allows it to be absorbed into the blood much faster. Thus, the effects of CBD are much more potent. If you have a headache and are looking for CBD’s pain relief qualities, this is the best option for you.

You can also use CBD oil by adding it to food or drink, but this results in much slower uptake and, thus, slower effects that may not be as potent.

CBD Gummies

CBD gummies, on the other hand, contain a specific amount of CBD per serving. They are typically made by infusing CBD oil into a gummy candy base, resulting in a regular candy that’s fun to eat but with the added benefits of CBD.

CBD gummies come in different flavours and dosages, which can be great for people who want to be more discreet about it or get their CBD dose without the taste of the oil.

CBD gummies go through the digestive system, so they take some time for the gummies to be digested and for the CBD within them to reach the bloodstream. That’s why the results are much slower and much less potent than if you were to consume oil directly.

So Which Is Better?

What works for you may not work for someone else, so the answer to this question depends largely on the person consuming CBD.

For example, if you’re looking for faster and more potent effects, CBD oil would be a better option since it takes much less time for it to reach your blood. CBD has pain relief and anti-anxiety effects, so sublingually consumed oil would be the best choice for people trying to get these benefits.

CBD gummies also come with added sugars and ingredients in the gummy base that some may want to avoid, making CBD oil a better option.

On the other hand, CBD gummies are much better for consuming CBD discreetly and are a lot more flavourful than oil. It’s also much easier to measure doses accurately since each gummy contains only a specific amount of CBD.

So the choice comes down to what you prefer in your CBD consumption. In either case, you’ll be getting all the benefits of CBD.
